If you are anything like me, then it’s not uncommon that you have over 100 unread emails in your inbox. You read the emails that are important, and the rest just pile up. Every few months you clean up your inbox by moving all emails to your archive. You promise yourself that from now on you will stay on top of things, but soon enough, you are again buried under a mountain of email. If this sounds recognisable, then you should try out Sanebox.
Sanebox, what is that?
Sanebox is a new add-on feature at One.com that helps you keep track of your email by implementing some of the proven best practices when it comes to email productivity. You cannot eliminate emails from your life, but you can decide how and when to deal with them. Continue reading for tips on how to make Sanebox help you take back control of your inbox.
Filter unimportant emails away from your inbox
We receive loads of emails every day and most of them are unimportant. With Sanebox, you filter your emails to different folders so that only essential emails pop up in your inbox. Newsletters, offers, mailing lists, etc., are moved to folders called ‘SaneLater’ or ‘SaneNews’. Sanebox creates some folders by default, but you can also create your own custom folders, for example for emails where you are CC’ed.
Train Sanebox to learn your preferences
Sanebox analyses each email that comes in, and moves it to the right folder. However, we are all different and an email that is important to me may not be important to you. Luckily you can train Sanebox to understand this.
If Sanebox has filtered an email to ‘SaneLater’, but you want it to appear in your inbox, just move the email to the right folder, and Sanebox will remember this. You can also set up advanced filters so that emails from specific domains or with certain subjects will always be filtered away from your inbox.
Snooze emails until later
Email arrives at all times of the day, but that doesn’t mean that you have to respond right away. With Sanebox you can defer an email until a time that you want to answer it. You can make it go away from your inbox and reappear at a time of your own choosing.
Don’t need to answer an email until tomorrow or next week? Just move the email to the ‘SaneTomorrow’ or ‘SaneNextWeek’ folder. You can enable snooze folders from your Sanebox dashboard or create custom snooze folders, for example for when you go on vacation.
Remind your future self
Another convenient feature of Sanebox is to send reminders to your future self. All you need to do is send an email to ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’ or ‘email@example.com’, and it will pop back in your inbox at the given time. You can also defer an email for later processing by forwarding it to another time. Any combination of minutes, hours, days, weeks and months will work. Read the documentation from Sanebox for more details on how to set this up correctly.
Try Sanebox for free for 14 days
Does this sound interesting? Then go ahead and activate Sanebox from your settings in Webmail. You can try it for free for 14 days. Don’t worry, it will expire automatically if you don’t want to continue using it after the free period.
