When I look for a store, service or restaurant, like most people, I search online to find what I need. Often, I prefer a business that is close by, even better if it’s conveniently located on the way home from work.
I hate wasting time, so when I can confirm that a business has the brand I need, that is great. If it’s a restaurant that I am looking for, then a playground for the kids is a must! Oh, and did I mention that my husband is vegan?
Another thing that I find important is a correct listing of the opening hours. Nothing is more frustrating than standing in front of my favourite pizza place and reading a sign saying “Sorry, we are closed for vacation.”
If you own a business, it is essential that information about your store or restaurant is available online, so that people like me can find you.
But where do you start?
An obvious place to begin is the contact page of your website, and you have probably already created a Facebook page for your business. But how do you get your business listed in navigation services like Google Maps or TomTom? What about other social media like Instagram or Foursquare, or services you have never even heard of? And how do you keep it all up to date?
You probably think this sounds like a lot of extra work, on top of the day to day tasks of running a business, and you are right. Luckily a group of talented people came to the same conclusion and created an online service called Uberall.
Uberall takes care of what we call location marketing. It is a new extra feature that is available to One.com customers, and we are super excited about it.
How does Uberall help you?
What Uberall does is take your information and submit it to all online directories that are relevant in your region, for example, Google Maps or Foursquare. And if you make any changes, then Uberall makes sure this is updated as well. For example, you are now also open on Sunday morning; simply update your profile with the new opening hours and Uberall will take care of the rest.
By having your business information readily available online, it makes it easier for people to find you, which will increase sales and exposure.
More than just an address
Your online profile is more than just your address and opening hours. Uberall encourages you to add more information about, for example, specific brands that you sell, or what payment methods your customers can use. That way, if potential customers are looking for something specific, they can be sure that they won’t be disappointed when visiting your store.
Another way to distinguish your business is by adding attributes that describe your style and personality, for example, if pets are welcome or if you serve vegan meals. Which attributes are available for you to select, depend on the type of business that you have.
More than words
Uberall allows you to upload your business logo and photos of your business. Pictures help potential customers get a visual idea of your store or restaurant. And if you decide that it’s time for a new logo, you only need to submit it to Uberall to get it updated everywhere.
You can activate Uberall from your One.com control panel. Check our guide to help you with the onboarding process.
